Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into your role / in the construction marketing industry?
I began my career with a two-year marketing apprenticeship at a building compliance company, where I gained a solid foundation in the marketing mix and established a strong base for growth in the field. Driven by a fascination with data, I went on to complete a CAM Diploma in Digital Metrics & Analytics, further enhancing my analytical skill set.
My next role was as a Lead Generation Executive, where I gained valuable experience in SEO, opening the door to my first agency role as an SEO Executive. Through hard work and dedication, I advanced to Head of E-commerce SEO.
Eager for a new challenge, I joined Tradectory - a decision that has been pivotal in my career. Working with ambitious construction brands and gaining insights across diverse sectors has been incredibly rewarding, and it continues to drive my passion for industry-specific SEO strategies.
What do you enjoy most about working in construction digital marketing?
What I enjoy most about working in construction digital marketing is the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of brands, each bringing unique challenges and perspectives. The construction industry has specific needs and a distinct customer journey, which requires a deep understanding of sector nuances. Being able to adapt and tailor strategies to meet each client’s goals allows me to constantly evolve my own skills and keeps the work dynamic.
It’s rewarding to help construction brands enhance their digital presence and achieve measurable success. I especially appreciate the creativity involved in aligning traditional industry values with modern SEO tactics. The chance to introduce innovative approaches and see the direct impact on their growth is incredibly fulfilling.
What is a project you’re most proud of and why?
One of my most rewarding experiences has been working with Dale Joinery to significantly enhance their organic visibility through highly targeted SEO strategies. Our tailored approach has transformed SEO into one of the company’s primary revenue streams, driving sustainable growth and establishing Dale Joinery as a trusted name in their market. Seeing their traffic increase by 376% over the course of 3 years was a remarkable achievement.
How do you stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in both construction and digital marketing?
I actively follow a diverse set of reputable sources in the SEO field to stay current with best practices and evolving trends. My go-to resources include industry leaders like Search Engine Land, Search Engine Journal, Neil Patel, and Search Engine Roundtable, which provide in-depth insights, data-driven studies, and up-to-date news on SEO developments.
In addition to these, LinkedIn is a great platform where I can connect with experts in the construction space and stay informed about industry trends. It also provides access to diverse perspectives, which often inspire new ideas and innovative approaches in my work.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to a construction company looking to improve its digital presence?
While traditional marketing techniques remain effective, digital marketing accelerates growth and visibility, helping brands reach their goals far more quickly. Success in this space hinges on getting the fundamentals right, such as launching an optimised website, establishing active social media channels, and maintaining a strong presence on platforms like Google My Business. These foundational elements ensure that a business is not only visible but accessible to its target audience.
Even small, strategic adjustments such as refining website SEO, enhancing local listings, or engaging with followers on social media can yield significant results.
What do you think makes Tradectory stand out from other construction marketing agencies?
Our team shares a commitment to excellence and is dedicated to delivering outstanding results for the brands we support. We collaborate closely, always aiming to exceed expectations and ensure that each campaign we create and execute drives measurable success.
Passion fuels our work, and every team member brings a high level of expertise and enthusiasm to raise the bar for innovation and growth.
If you could work on any dream project, what would it be?
I would love the opportunity to support football programs or initiatives that inspire young girls and women to pursue football and make the sport more accessible. While women’s football has seen significant progress in recent years, there is still so much potential to grow the game and create more inclusive opportunities.
Additionally, collaborating with mental health charities to break down stigmas and provide essential resources would be another dream project. Being able to contribute to efforts that empower people with support networks and education around mental health would be highly rewarding.
